MedCom’s training consultancy services may include any combination of materials and forums described below. All education programs are tailored specifically to each client and engagement, in order to best facilitate training.
· Charge Guidelines
MedCom will create charge guidelines for specific departments or services, for use by facility staff. Charge guidelines generally include descriptions for specific charge codes along with an explanation of appropriate use. Charge guideline documents often contain examples and FAQs, and can be adapted to align with previously established facility documents.
· Position Papers
Position papers may be drafted by MedCom staff in order to provide additional education or documented explanation on a particular charge practice, explaining how services should be reported or documented, along with supporting research.
· Training Documents
Training documents are created for education of facility staff, specified to the target audience and training environment. The documents serve as a guide for training sessions, either on-site at facility or via web conference, and also aids in training of incoming staff.
· Web Conference
Training sessions may be conducted remotely through the use of web conferencing. MedCom analysts will use GoToMeeting sessions to review training documents with facility staff and answer questions. Multiple Web Conference training sessions may be established to accommodate staff with varied work hours.
